The water is heating up, the sun is shinning, and the itch to fish is strong. So what's a girl to do? I decided to call my buddy, John Woodrum, Owner/Operator of the Pursuit out of 22nd Street Landing in San Pedro. In my opinion, it's the best full day fishing boat out of the LA/Long Beach area!

My husband and I jumped aboard on a Friday morning with Baja Fish Gear swag in hand to give out as a raffle to make the day more exciting. The 65-foot boat is great for local fishing and what I like best is the crew on board. On today's trip I was welcomed by deckhands Mike & Shawn, Ken in the Galley, and the rest of the crew. We had a great time, with Sand Bass & Barracuda chomping on the plastics, iron, and the live squid.

While I was soaking in the sun and meditated about how sweet life is I started wondering what type of useful content we could provide to our visitors and it dawned on me that a series of how-to's, directly from the deckhands perspective would be a good selection. So over the next few weeks, stayed tuned folks, we are going to be adding a collection of the most commonly asked questions and our deckhand buddies are going to answer the call.
